Festival Information

It's FREE to come to the Balquhidder BIKE FEST!

This really is an event for everyone and anyone. Whether you're young or old, a superfit athlete or not, we welcome you to come along with your friends and/or family and join in the races, fun, food, music and festivities over the weekend.

If you'd like to stay overnight, you can also take advantage of nearby campsites or use our rough camping field though this has no facilities..

If you are returning after coming to a previous year's event, it'll be great to have you back as we have lots of new stuff in store. If you are coming for the first time then we look forward to seeing you and  hope you have a great time.

This page should answer all your questions. The only thing we can't guarantee is sunsine, so please come equipped for all weathers!

The event is held in the village of Balquhidder, based at the hall. Postcode is FK19 8PA

PARKING

The immediate area around the village hall will be a CAR FREE ZONE. There is free parking at Auhleskine Farm just 400m before you reach the hall.

ROAD CLOSURES

The Mhor 84 to Balquhidder B road will close at 12pm for 15 minutes. The Strathyre to Balquhidder "back road" will close from 12.00 to 12.50pm

CAMPING

Our planned rough camping field is now dry enough to use (no facilities).  Camping with facilities can be found at Immervoulin and Balquhidder Braes Campsites.

FOOD AT HALL

Sat afternoon - Teas + baking

Sat eve - Mhor fish + chips + bar

Sunday - BBQ, teas, coffees, soft drinks + home baking. + bar

Additional food at Mhor84, the Golden Larches & in Strathyre

TOILETS

Located at the village hall open on Sat PM and all day Sunday.

Additional toilets can be found at Mhor84 (2miles) and at Strathyre in the various pubs and cafe's (4 miles).

BIKE HIRE

Bike Hire will be available on the w/e from the Wheels Cycling Centre at their tent at the village hall. To book a road or mountain bike, call John Miller on 01877 331100

BIKE SECURITY

Please take adequate measures to ensure your bike is safe and secure at all times. The event organisers cannot be held responsible for any loss of or damage to equipment.

WARNING WHISTLES

Event Marshalls will blow a whistle if a bike is approaching. If you hear a loud whistle, a rider is coming - Look out, and please get well out of the way, as they may be travelling FAST!

FIRST AID

The first aid tent is located at the village hall with first aiders at hand. An emergency first response team will also be 4x4 vehicles during races. Should you require attention please notify a marshall or go to the tent.

DISABLED ACCESS

There is disabled access at the village hall including a flat access for wheel chairs.

VOLUNTEERS

Like most events the Bike Fest requires lots of helpers to make it happen. If you would like to volunteer to help at the event, we'd like to hear from you.
