Road Race

The NAT7 Loop Race is a full tilt 12k road push for anyone who loves to ride fast on roads and metalled cycle paths.

This is short enough to go at it, but long enough to entertain just about everyone from the superfit to the keen amateurs looking to put in a personal best time...

TOP RIDERS:

2014 saw Scott Denny set the record that currently holds strong. In 2015 the fastest time was set by Alastair Murphy, so hopefully these guys will be back to challenge the record in 2016.

The start is next to Balquhidder village hall. Riders then head east for 3.1k to towards Mhor84 (Kingshouse).

Just before the "A84 flyover bridge" (at Mhor84) competitors bear right (south) joining the “super smooth”  3.4k Sustrans cycle track to Strathyre.

In Strathyre riders turn right across the stone bridge and then right again onto the Balquhidder “back road” for an initial climb out of the village of 62m. They then follow the picturesque undulating ride back along the 5.8k scenic route, all the way to Balquhidder. The final 60m sprint to the finish after the balquhidder bridge should see you being cheered across the line...

Main junctions will have the direction marked by an arrow and be marshalled.

PRIZE GIVING & RESULTS will be announced at 1300 at the village hall, just before the Big Bike Parade.

With the 2014 lap record of 20mins 42s, from Scott Denny still holding strong, all road cyclists are invited to enter the 2016 12k NAT7 loop event to try and smash it or set their own personal best time.

Whether you're a superfit pro, a keen amateur road biker, or simply someone that just wants to have a shot at pedalling around the route, then this is for you...

With a mass start for everyone this is a fun chase round  the scenic 12k route...
